In a news release State representatives including locals State Rep. John Price (R-Bargersville) and Woody Burton (R-Whiteland), paired their sneakers with their suit today at the Statehouse to help raise cancer awareness.

“Nearly $2 billion was spent in 2015 on direct costs of treating cancer in Indiana,” Price said. “This financial burden in addition to the mental and physical hardships that victims of cancer and their families have to endure is substantial and demands our full-hearted support.”

This is an annual event that the Indiana state representatives have taken part in for several years.

The Suits and Sneakers challenge is an annual event sponsored by the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches to help raise cancer awareness and support those affected by the disease.
